April 8, 2017 — WV Quilters Spring Meeting, Ripley, WV
The Jackson’s Mill Retreat will provide an opportunity to bring quilts for documentation.
(Friday, March 17th between 10am and 4pm)
Call Fran for an appointment (contact info on our Documentation Page).
Bring information and pictures of the quiltmaker, but “maker unknown” quilts are also welcomed.

We will have another Documentation Day at our Spring Meeting, April 8th, in Ripley.

Governor’s Excellence in Support of the Arts award
on March 10, 2016 at the
Culture Center in Charleston, WV.
Thanks to all who participated in our 2016
WV Quilt Festival. The quilts were fabulous!
We also enjoyed classes, vendors, good food and more.

Lee Fisher, husband of WVQI member Rosemary Fisher, with the Quilt of Valor presented to him at our 2014 Retreat. 
MMLee served in the 101st Airborne Division, and was awarded the Purple Heart and other medals, having been wounded during his hitch in Vietnam.  The quilt was presented by the members of Needle Artistry.

West Virginia Quilters, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote quilting in West Virginia and...

  • to encourage learning, understanding, and appreciation of the art of quilting
  • to provide education about the art of quilting to its members
  • to provide statewide communication and resource sharing through the publication of a newsletter, sponsorship of workshops, seminars and meetings

This organization continues the recording of the tradition, culture, and history of quiltmaking in West Virginia that began with the West Virginia Heritage Quilt Search, Inc. and will encourage the care and preservation of quilts, both old and new.
