So many possibilities!

You choose a theme and the rest will be smooth sailing. The 8 inch New York Beauty block will go together easily. The paper pieced center arc has dramatic sharp points. Gentle curves join the finishing arcs.

Once the blocks are finished, they can be twisted and turned to make an exciting collage of color and design.

Themes that work:

Silk Ties: Collect 15–20 ties. Unstitch before class. Wash if soiled. Add other fabrics. 2 yds. light weight fusible interfacing.

Scraps: The New York Beauty Block works exceptionally well in a collection of scrap fabrics. Choose bright happy colors or strongly contrasting colors. Fat quarters to equal at least 3 yards. Hand dyed fabrics are great.

The African Collection: Have fun with animals, bold prints, and lots of black and a striking contrast fabric. Fat quarters to equal at least 3 yards.

Supplies:
Sewing machine, extension cord, 1/4" foot, neutral threads for piecing, pins, 70/10 jeans needles, paper scissors, fabric scissors, pencil, eraser, ruler, rotary cutter, mat, 12" roll of Golden Thread Quilting paper, 18" of freezer paper, seam ripper.
