Marion County Reading Council
Let’s include children in the annual quilt festival and allow them to experience the Appalachian art of quilt making. Marion County Reading Council will be participating at the Quilt Festival for the first time. Student work samples will be displayed at our booth showing various “quilt-type” activities that have taken place in classrooms. Students may also pick up the official Quilt Festival 2010 Scavenger Hunt at our booth to complete as they enjoy the Quilt Festival with their parent(s). Each scavenger hunt participant will win a prize!

In addition, children visiting our booth will be able to create a quilt square craft in keeping with the festival’s purpose. Children of all ages will also be able to purchase books and book marks whose subject matter is related to quilts.
Spotlight on a Guild
This year a new tradition begins for the WV Quilt Festival. We will be putting the spotlight on a different WV guild at each Quilt Festival. The Millennium Quilters’ Guild of Bridgeport, WV will be the first one in the spotlight. They will be putting together an exhibit that will showcase their quilt work, projects and talents.
Guild Banners
Another new exhibit this year is the Guild Banner Exhibit. All quilt guilds in West Virginia are invited to submit their banner for this exhibit. Please fill out a separate Quilt Entry Form and check the line at the bottom of page one. There is no fee, and this will not count as an entry for the contact person.
