Round Robin Raffle Quilt

1930's Round Robin/Featured Quilters

This new exhibit for the Quilt Festival 2010 will feature various quilt guilds from across the state hand quilting the WV Quilters, Inc. 1930’s Round Robin Donation Quilt.

The top was begun in Morgantown where Carolyn Gibson of the Country Roads Quilt Guild made the center block.  This center square then traveled to Charleston where Nell Griffin, the Moon & Stars Quilters and the Kanawha Valley Quilters put on the first go-around.  It then made its way to Ripley where Ruth Hollandsworth and the Jackson County Creative Quilters added the next round.  The next stop was in central West Virginia, where Cathy Sowa and the Crazy Quilters put on the penultimate round.  The quilt top has arrived in Elkins where the final “round” is being stitched by the Log Cabin Quilters’ Guild.

Have your Guild sign up to volunteer to hand quilt for a few hours during the Festival.  The lucky winner of this quilt will receive the notebook that has traveled with the quilt every step of the way.

Here’s a “sneak peek” of the Round Robin Quilt that is nearing completion.

It will be hand quilted during the June 24th–26th Quilt Festival by West Virginia quilters and visitors.

Don’t forget to purchase a raffle ticket on this beautiful quilt during this delightful 3-day event!
